Our Story
Built in Wyoming, for Wyoming.
Wyoming Railroad — the public operating name of Bighorn Divide and Wyoming Railroad — was built in Wyoming, for Wyoming. From our earliest days as the Bad Water Line in 2002, saving former Chicago & North Western trackage from abandonment, we’ve operated on a principle that larger carriers have forgotten: rail should serve the shipper.
Over 20 years, we’ve grown from a short segment between Shoshoni and Bonneville into a three-location integrated logistics operation handling rail switching, transloading, and storage across 470+ acres. We transload soda ash, sulfur, petroleum products, wind turbine components, and industrial materials for producers that power Wyoming’s economy. We’ve remained a steady and reliable presence across the Mountain West. through the harshest of winters, transporting high-stakes loads.
